Rubik's cube perfection!!!Feb 11, 2010
By Wolfgang Jaeger I have been an avid rubik's cube fan for many years and the thought of a cube this large, after years of only the 5x5 to keep me challenged, was sheer delight. I've owned my 7x7 for about a year and a half and it is by far my favourite toy.
First, the V-cubes in general are far superiour in quality to either the Eastsheens or the Rubik's brand products. V-cubes are incredibly solid. The 6x6 is still prone to pop a few pieces if you push it too fast, but not so with the 7x7. It is extremely rare to lose a piece, and even then I've never had a catastrophic break where half the cube dinsintigrates. As with any cube, there will be a "break-in" period where it will feel a bit stiff, but after a week or two the cube will just fly. I've never had to lubricate my 7x7 either, which is mind boggling to me (my 3x3 with half as much use wouldn't make it more than a few weeks).
I've never seen a cube that came with stickers that were that good. The 7x7 was not an exception in that regard. I would keep my eye out for replacement stickers ([...]).
People always ask me if it is harder than the original 3x3. It should be obvious that it is, but it isn't too bad. That being said, I would not advocate jumping from the 3x3 right to the 7x7. Your best bet for conquering the 7x7 is by way of the 5x5 (and V-cube makes the best 5x5 available). In the end, there is only one additional algorithm that is necessary to solve it (i.e. to finish the last two centres), everything else can be readily adapted from the 5x5 algorithms.
If you are keen on buying all three cubes, you can purchase them right from the V-cubes website.
I would highly recommend any of the v-cubes products. Exacting design and construction make them great toys with longevity. Keep your eyes out for the 8x8 - 11x11s. They'll be out there one of these days.

You can't go wrong with V-CubeSep 15, 2010
By Eric I purchased this V-Cube 7 about 6 months ago, and it still turns just as great as the first day I got it (even after disassembling and reassembling it). The price has dropped $10 since I purchased it, which makes this even better if you're thinking about getting this. I highly recommend this cube. I had only solved the 3x3 cube before getting this, and was still able to solve it, so don't let the size be too intimidating. I purchase 2 other cubes here at amazon: the Meffert's Megaminx (which is equally as awesome), and I am current waiting for the C4U 3x3x7. I am getting very addicted to puzzle cubes, and Amazon doesn't disappoint, with prices usually lower than the manufacturer's websites, and the shipping time has been quicker than expected. Thank you Amazon, for catering to my cube addiction :-p!

Quality and quantityMay 12, 2010

For anyone who has used a standard (non-professional) Rubik's 4 and 5 layer, you know about constant general stiffness and resistance with misaligned layers. The V-Cube company really has solved those issues with both the 6 layer and the 7 layer (and I assume the 5 layer, but I don't have that yet). Right out of the package, the layers turned with great ease, and the layers "fall in" when turning a perpendicular slice instead of jamming up. The quality is through the roof! Also, the challenge really is higher. I opened up the 6 layer V-Cube, scrambled it and had it solved in 45 minutes on the first try, but I ran into a conundrum on the 7 layer that took me 2 weeks of tinkering to get past.

Another excellent product from Vcube.May 21, 2010
By Jason Mathews I was pleasantly surprised when I first picked up the Vcube 7, after having previously handled the Vcube 5. While I thought the 5 was sturdy, and easy to turn, I thought this one would be less so. I was wrong. The Vcube 7 is just as sturdy, and maybe a tad bit easier to turn, than it's smaller 5 layer counterpart, and the construction is second to none. If you need a challenge past the regular 3x3, or even 4x4 Rubik's, I highly recommend any of the Vcube products. They are far superior to any other cube I've tried, and more than worth the money.
As a side note, I've found an entirely new and fun way to play with this and any of the other Vcubes. Each cube is prone to the occasional piece popping out if you turn it the wrong way, or force it, so Vcube has graciously included instructions on how to put these cubes back together. I've found that intentionally taking the cube apart and then putting it back together can be an enjoyable activity, especially for people that like building toys such as Legos. I've taken this cube apart multiple times and put it back together, and it still turns and handles exactly like the day I took it out of the package. It's like getting a puzzle and a building set in one!

Fun and challengingMay 07, 2010

This is a fun and challenging toy but after purchasing it, my children realize that they should have purchased the 5x5 first in order to get a better understanding of how this 7x7 works. They love the cube but pices may pop out while turning a layer. They say that the pieces are easy to pop back in - no problem. It's fun trying to move all the colors around! Buy it and enjoy it.
