Great little pocket scopeMar 29, 2010
By R. Smith Have only had the product for a couple of days so I can't speak for durablity. Depth of field is great, lighting is excellent, edge to edge clarity and cheap batteries. Being 65 and having trouble with resolution in examining rocks and minerals I have many hand magnifying products, none comes close to the images this produces. Excellent product.

SweetOct 01, 2010
By iLLuMNaTi If you compare the price versus quality of this item, you will not find anything better. I bought 3 of these and am super pleased about my purchase. It is small, attractive, powerful, comes with a battery, comes with a sweet little carrying case, has an on/off switch for the light, and gives you more bang for the buck than anything else like it.
Advice : Familiarize yourself with the LED on/off switch on the end closest to the viewing end (not the end you put your eye in). The end of the lighting mechanism closest to where you put your eye on the scope is a screw cap for the battery ... it does not turn on/off the light. If you attempt to screw that cap clockwise too much, you will strip the threads of the plastic cap where the battery goes.
I ruined my first one because of ignorance, but it still works.
If you let someone else use it, you need to tell them about this, otherwise they might try to screw the battery cap in an attempt to turn on the light. The light switch is on the bottom, not the top.
Suggestion : Buy at least two. Keep the best one and give the other as a gift. At this cost, you could spend your money on a fast food meal for a one time pleasure or buy one of these for a long time pleasure.

45x Pocket Mini Microscope with LEDJul 08, 2011
By Hungry Not 45x but more around a 15x. Angle of view very narrow. I needed something to view gem stones while faceting them. I can see better at what I need to look at using a simple loupe without the built in lamp. The batteries that came with this mini microscope only lasted 5 minutes before going dead. This was a total waste of $5. I really couldn't even say I got what I paid for. You will actually save money by spending a little more money for something better.SE Mini 45X Microscope w/ Illuminator

Great for the Buck.Jun 29, 2011
By Joseph L. Layde This product is great for the price you pay. The only thing, its not metal as I thought, and its def. not x45. It's nearly 15~20ish.
Here are some pictures I took to show the magnification and lighting.

SE Mini UV LED Pocket Microscope, 45x power or so.Jan 23, 2011
By C. Parker
"CD"
SE Mini UV Pocket Microscope, 45x +/-, LED Illuminated with Storage bag, allows user to inspect small items of interest, from jewelry, stones therein, fingernail surfaces, splinters, bugs, hair growing on the backs of your hand, printed letters on a page, leaf veins and other small items of interest. A toy it is not, but if you have this loupe at your disposal, it will entertain and guide ones interest beyond the casual look we give to items we usually barely see. Think about the young mind and how it can be drawn to something, when the obvious becomes inhanced into interesting detail. I really think this should be a Christmas stocking stuffer for every little person who reaches an age, where they can use it to expand the vision of their ever widening worlds. I have several versions that I constantly reach for of loupes and small visual enlargers. Did you know scorpions are irradecant and glow in the dark under UV light. Many items you view will appear much differently when viewed enlarged and exposed to UV light.
