3Dogobie not as good as it once was.....Jun 03, 2010
By E. Tucker
I have been purchasing Dogobies for 6 years, at 6 at a time. Up to the last shipment, I have been thrilled with the Dogobie, my Chocolate Lab and I play frisbee every day, whether I want to or not. The disc was durable and flew straight and a good distance-- into the wind, 30-40yards. With my last shipment this year, the discs were 'floppier,' and seemed 'cheaper.' When thrown, the torque makes the disc bend it in the middle which causes it to fly straight up and then straight down, wind or no wind. I can get 1 good throw out of 12 that the dog has a chance to catch, previously, 9 out of 12. If I 'cup'it before throwing that will get a good throw but it cant be cupped too much or it goes right into the ground. I wrote to the company and they said that they indeed changed the manufacturing formula, to make the discs more durable for chewers, but they were not aware of the decreased flying ability. This is very disappointing to me and I am currently going thru the dog discs to find a suitable replacement. So, if you want a durable disc abd you dont care how it flys, Dogobie is for you. If you want to throw and have your dog catch it, look elsewhere. Let me know what you find. I am trying the Vibram and Hyperflite and I will review them on their sites.

5A durable alternative to a new frisbee every weekJul 15, 2007
By M. Ocean
Our dog (5 years, medium size, 50lbs) would destroy a frisbee a week, merely in adjusting it in his mouth while carrying it back from a catch. A tooth hole here, and there ultimately led to full breakage. Add in the occasional blood on the frisbee from the hard plastic cutting his tounge and we had to hit the net for something else. Admittedly, a cheap plastic flying disc can be found for $1 or $2 at a discount store, so it was less about the money and more about the frustration and waste.

Review: This dogobie is surprisingly durable. It's a bendable, mallable plastic. While the dog has been able to put small imperfections (divets?) in the surface with his teeth, I don't think he's actually punctured it yet after 4 weeks of throwing almost every day. It's pretty misshapen at this point (I leave it in a plastic bag in a closet so it doesn't lie flat) but still flies very well. In fact, it still flies better (higher, longer) than a traditional frisbee. I'm sure if I left it on a flat surface in the sun it would correct it.

Ultimately, I'm sure this is infinitely more comfortable for a dog than any other plastic flying disc. It flies a good long distance and has held up like a champ thus far. I'm not so unreasonable as to think this one will last forever, but it does seem possible that it might last a year. Maybe more. Given this first month of constant usage I'm *very* happy with the purchase and would not hesitate to recommend it to any other dog owner.

2Curls after a dayAug 18, 2010
By L. Abzun
My 3 dogs love to play with discs. The size of the Dogobie was ideal. The disc has a small lip around the edge which makes it easier for dogs to pick up. However, after only a day outside the discs (which arrived flat and flew straight) curled up and do not flatten out. Although they still fly, the flight trajectory is way off. Disappointed dogs!

1flimsy, dog won't pick it upJan 03, 2012
By icanhike
I bought this frisbee thinking it would be a good light weight toy for travel/camping...but the dog thought otherwise. My GSD won't touch it. It appears to be hard to pick up unless he grabs it from the top and bends it in half. It is so flimsy it doesn't fly straight unless you throw it perfectly right. Not fun for either one of us.
